Many pieces of land are being contested by these two countries and have been for decades. Jerusalem is, to me, a mysterious country with lots of tension because its relationship with Palestine. ![]() I love how Guy Delisle captured the subtitles of life and culture there. Collected in this 320-thick hardcover graphic novel are his stories and experience when he lived there. In 2009, he stayed a year in Beit Hanina, Jerusalem, as he had to accompany his wife who works for the Médecins Sans Frontières (aka Doctors without Boarders). Guy Delisle is a comic artist known for his travelogue graphic journals, such as Shenzhen (2000), Pyongyang (2003), Burma Chronicles (2007) and Jerusalem (2009). ![]()
